MyRuck AI
MyRUCK.ai is an AI-powered platform that helps businesses manage veteran benefits and support military-connected employees. It uses LLM-based systems to assess eligibility and streamline benefits administration through an intuitive full-stack portal.
Overview
Veterans leave service entitled to a sprawling set of federal, state, and local benefits — and most never claim what they’re owed, because working out eligibility means navigating hundreds of overlapping programs with interdependent rules. MyRuck attacks that from the employer side: it’s HR software that sits inside a company’s existing platform and tells military-connected employees exactly which benefits they qualify for and how to act on them.
The company positioned it as “the first Intelligent Benefits Automation™ software connecting employers to Veterans & Military-Connected Families” — AI-driven HR solutions for veterans, built by veterans.
Key Features
- BASE eligibility engine: The Benefits Analysis & Service Eligibility engine assesses close to 9 billion benefit scenarios, resolving up to 1,500 per person to find the critical path through federal, state, and local programs for that individual.
- Intelligent Document Processing: Military documents and Department of Veterans Affairs data are parsed automatically at onboarding, extracting service history without asking the employee to re-key it or an HR team to interpret it.
- Personalized benefits outlook: Employees see a dashboard of what they qualify for now and what they’ll qualify for later, then request a certificate of eligibility and act on any benefit directly.
- Military resume translation: AI tooling that converts military experience and job descriptions into civilian vocabulary, so recruiters can actually evaluate the candidates in front of them.
- Employer ROI metrics: The employer side surfaces human-capital ROI for veteran and military-connected staff — the pitch being an average reduction of at least $10,000 in HR operational cost per veteran employee.
- Embedded in existing HR platforms: Delivered as a tab inside the systems companies already run, with integrations across ADP, Workday, and Intuit QuickBooks.
Technologies Used
- LLM-based eligibility reasoning: Language models applied to benefits rules and service records to generate individualized recommendations.
- Intelligent Document Processing (IDP): Automated extraction and structuring of military documentation.
- Full-stack portal: Separate employer and employee experiences over a shared benefits and eligibility model.
- HR platform APIs: Data exchange with ADP, Workday, and QuickBooks.
Challenges and Learnings
Benefits eligibility is a domain where a confident wrong answer causes real harm — someone forgoes a claim they were entitled to, or pursues one they weren’t. That constraint shapes everything: the system has to explain which rule produced a recommendation, not just assert the outcome. It’s the same problem I work on now in clinical AI at Rhazes, met first in a different domain: the model’s usefulness is bounded by whether a human can check its reasoning.
Outcome
MyRuck turned a benefits maze into a dashboard, and turned veteran support from an HR cost centre into something with a measurable return. The scenario engine is the heart of it — the difference between “here are some programs you might look into” and “here is your path, and here’s the certificate to start it.”
