Singo.io

A music distribution service putting independent artists on Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok and 220+ stores in 48 hours, with monthly payouts and 100% revenue retention.

  • Web platform
  • Mobile app
  • DSP delivery

Overview

Singo.io was an artist-first music distribution service founded in Germany in 2021, built on a simple premise: independent musicians shouldn’t have to trade ownership for reach. The platform handled delivery to the world’s streaming stores while artists kept their rights and their revenue.

The positioning was direct — “Free Music Distribution. Get your music on Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, Instagram and over 220+ more Streaming Stores. Keep 100% of the revenue from the music you distribute.”

Key Features

  • 220+ streaming stores: Delivery to Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, Instagram, Deezer, Pandora, SoundCloud, YouTube Music, Tidal, iHeartRadio and the long tail beyond them.
  • 48-hour distribution: Releases processed within two days of submission — fast for the category at the time.
  • Monthly payouts: Streaming earnings settled every month rather than quarterly, so artists could actually plan around the income.
  • 100% revenue retention: On the premium plan, artists kept everything paid to Singo.
  • Teams and royalty splits: A “Teams” feature that automatically routed royalties to collaborators and shareholders — producers, features, and co-writers paid without manual reconciliation.
  • Mobile artist app: Available balance, payout requests with selectable payment methods, per-release reports showing stores, streams and revenue, plus stream and download statistics over time.

Technologies Used

  • Web platform with a companion mobile app for iOS and Android.
  • DSP delivery pipeline: Release metadata, audio delivery, and per-store status tracking across 220+ services.
  • Royalty engine: Per-release earnings aggregation with automated multi-party splits feeding a wallet and payout request flow.

Challenges and Learnings

Royalty splits look trivial until you build them. A single track can involve a producer, two features, a co-writer and a label share, each on different percentages, with revenue arriving from hundreds of stores in different currencies on different schedules. Making that resolve automatically — and correctly, every month, for every collaborator — is the part of a distribution platform nobody sees and everybody notices when it’s wrong.

Outcome

Singo established the model that Nextfly.me later expanded on: fast distribution, real royalty retention, and payout terms that treat independent artists as the customer rather than the product. The service is no longer live; the imagery here is recovered from archived captures of the original product.
